Lyrics :-

mujhe ye phool na de, tujhko dilbari ki kasam
dilbari ki kasam
ye kuchh nahi ye kuchh nahi, tere hoton ki tajgi ki kasam
tajgi ki kasam

najar haseen ho to jalwe haseen lagte hai
nazar haseen ho to jalwe haseen lagte hai
main kuchh nahin hoon mujhe husn ki kasam
mujhe ye phool na de

tu ek saaz hai chheda nahi kisi ne jise
tere badan me chhupi naram ragini ki kasam
ragini ki kasam

ragni tere dil me hai mere tan me nahi
parakhne wale mujhe teri sadgi ki kasam
sadgi ki kasam
mujhe ye phool na de

ghazal ka laaz hai tu nazam ka sabab hai tu
ghazal ka laaz hai tu nazam ka sabab hai tu
yakeen kar mujhe meri shayari ki kasam
shayari ki kasam
parkhane wale mujhe teri saadgi ki kasam
mujhe ye phool na de, tujhko dilbari ki kasam

Gazal is a Urdu-Hindi romance musical film directed by Ved-Madan, starring Meena Kumari and Sunil Dutt. The muslim social film about the right of young generation to marriage of their choice. It had music by Madan Mohan with lyrics by Sahir Ludhianvi, featuring notable filmi-ghazals like "Rang Aur Noor Ki Baraat" performed by Mohammed Rafi and " Naghma O Sher Ki Saugaat" performed by Lata Mangeshkar.

Storyline :-
Agra-based atheist and revolutionary poet/editor of Inquilab, Ejaz, falls head-over-heels in love with Naaz Ara Begum after he hears her sing, and then ends up losing his job. With the assistance of his lovely sister, Kausar Ara Begum, Ejaz and Naaz meet secretly. This does not auger well with Akhtar Nawab, Naaz's paternal cousin, who plans to marry her. To make matters worse, their meeting is witnessed by her enraged dad, Nawab Bakar Ali Khan, who initially asks Ejaz to leave, and then decides to teach him a lesson - with two loaded rifles. It wasn't without reason that the music world crowned him ‘ghazal king' and the otherwise sceptical and insensitive Hindi film industry endorsed the sobriquet. Therefore, what better tribute to Madan Mohan on his 87th death anniversary but to recall his eight mellifluous melodies in the relatively forgotten “Ghazal”, for which none other than Sahir Ludhanvi provided the lyrical compositions – “Nagma-ai-sher ki saughat kise pesh karon” (Lata), “Rang aur noor ki baraat” (Mohammed Rafi) and, amongst others, “Ek shahenshah ne banwa ke haseen Taj Mahal hum garibon ki mohabbat ka udaya hai mazaaq, mere mehboob kahin aur mila kar mujhse” (Rafi).
Surprisingly, his favourite ghazal singer, Talat Mahmood was conspicuous by his absence, Rafi had all the four solos, as well as a duet with Suman Kalyanpur “Mujhe yeh phool na de”, and just one solo, and a duet with Minoo Purshottam by Lata, “Unse nazar mili to yeh hosh udh gaye”. It was unfortunate that like many of his other films, this Madan Mohan gem failed at the box office though the songs continued to be played everywhere.
