1:Crowd: Halong Bay being a more popular destination amongst the tourists it is crowded and not so peaceful and cleaner on the other-hand Cat Ba being less explored more peaceful and having cleaner water and beaches.
2: Caves: Halong Bay has Sung Sot cave which features lime stone caves and it is the largest cave in Ha Long Bay where as there are two caves in Cat Ba Hospital and Thug Thang Cave which is similar to Sung Sot cave.

6: Overnight Accommodation: If you want to experience the nightlife in Halong bay, then you can choose amongst various overnight luxury cruises, whereas in Cat Ba Island you may have less options for overnight cruises and you will find hotels and resorts as well.
7: How to Reach: For Ha Long Bay you will have to take a cruise to cover all the main attraction in a day and for Cat Ba you will have to take ferries, boats, cruise or Kayak to cover all the attractions.
8: More options to explore: With cruise tour of Ha Long bay there are less options to explore more but in Cat Ba you can also visit Canon fort for beautiful sunset and Cat Ba National Park.
9: Number of days to Cover: It is possible to cover all the main attractions of Ha Long bay in one day whereas to fully explore Cat Ba island and nearby attractions you need at least two to three days.
10: Price comparison: Ha Long Bay day tour is compatibly less expensive than Cat Ba Island because there are many cruise available with great frequency.
