Air Chief Marshal AP Singh has warned against the qualitative and quantitative build-up of both the Chinese and the Pakistani air forces.

This comes at a time when the Indian Air Force is not able to induct new aircraft to boost its sagging strength.The Air Force Chief has called for greater self-reliance in defence Research and Development (R&D) and increased private sector participation in India’s aerospace industry.

The Indian Air Force plans to induct an indigenous fifth generation fighter aircraft called the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA). The aircraft is not likely to be inducted into the air force till at least 2035, but could potentially be operationalised as late as 2038.
