We start with the very basics of what tradelines are.

We then move on to the purpose of adding tradelines, also known as "piggybacking" credit which is the process through which you're listed as an authorized user on a pre-existing account.

This allows you to gain the benefit of the pre-existing payment history.

This is different than (although similar to) co-signing, but instead of starting on day one, as with co-signing, you get the history of an account backdated (or "seasoned") on your credit report.

The benefit is that you have good payment history inserted into your credit report that positively impacts your credit score.

This works with family, friends or perfect strangers, if you work with a company that has access to people willing to help you in the form adding you as an authorized user to their account, for a fee.
