Netflix has released the newest take on "Lara Croft" from the popular video game series.

"Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft" hit streaming today, starring actress Hayley Atwell as the voice of the iconic action hero, Lara Croft.

The franchise launched in the '90s and has seen multiple adaptations over the years, with one of the most notable being Angelina Jolie's portrayal back in 2001.

Although the animated series was just released earlier today, the response so far has been very positive.

Unlike other adaptations of the story, gamers and viewers alike feel this version gives fans a new reason to be invested in the narrative.

Eight episodes of "Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft" are available on Netflix now.
