Editor’s Note: This interview was conducted on February 6, 2019, before YNW Melly was charged with two counts of first-degree homicide. Melly, real name Jemell Demons, turned himself in to police in Miramar, Florida on February 13. Police claim that he shot and killed his friends, YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy, and staged the scene to look like a drive-by shooting. Melly maintains his innocence in the case.
