Vijay Sethupathi plays Bolt Kannan (or Bold Kannan), a charismatic but enigmatic man who arrives in Malaysia to escape a shadowy criminal past. He befriends Arivu (Yogi Babu), a ragpicker who poses as a wealthy businessman for his girlfriend. Kannan then meets Rukmini, or Rukku (Rukmini Vasanth), a young woman struggling with financial difficulties and trying to reclaim her parents' house from her abusive stepfather, a corrupt police officer named Rajadurai.
