The invasion by five Warsaw Pact countries on the night of Aug. 20-21 halted Alexander Dubček's Prague Spring liberalization reforms in Czechoslovakia. This same day broadcast includes news footage via satellite from the streets of Prague showing demonstrators defying Soviet tanks along with reactions from US President Lyndon Johnson and Yugoslavia's Tito, among others. Recorded on B&W videotape during the original televised broadcast.
