Each fix is unique.

In the case of this sideboard, the side had serious damage consisting of numerous veneer chips and deeper scratches.

To fix there were essentially three options excluding paint:

1. Veneer patches
2. Grain painting
3. Reveneer the panel

All viable options but in this case I went with veneering the entire panel. I had spare off cuts of veneer available so cost wasn’t a concern. Applying new veneer was the quickest option to get a spectacular result.

Attempting to veneer patch and/or grain paint all that damage would be very time consuming and extremely difficult. Applying new veneer took maybe 20 minutes and was very straight forward.

So really this fix came down to time invested. No shortcuts were taken, rather the fix was time efficient.
