Cross-Nailing Technique ✨👇🏼

Can you nail into drywall when there ISN’T a stud? Yes.

Here’s the trick:
Instead of nailing perpendicularly into your board, think about making an X.

Put your brad nailer at a slight angle and install alternate nails through your drywall at two different angles. Some prefer doing the nails next to each other while others prefer spacing them out.

The alternative nails will work together and help your wood remain snug (you’re basically making your panel “hug” the wall).

I’ve tested the strength by pulling a panel completely off (because you know, I have wacko toddlers) and it held on a lot stronger than I expected. This is the third project I’ve done with technique with and I’m not worried about these falling off, warping, or my kids pulling on them.
