గణపయ్యా… గణపయ్యా… ముద్దుల గణపయ్యా!
విఘ్నముల తొలగించు వినాయకా!
కరుణగుణమూర్తి గణపయ్యా!
ప్రతి హృదయంలో వెలుగులు నింపు దయామయా!


(చరణం 1)
పిల్లలారా వినండి ఓ మధురకథ,
పార్వతి అమ్మ గదిలో సుతిమెత్తని.
పసుపు, గంధం, చందన ముద్దతో,
ప్రేమతో మలిచె చిన్న రూపాన్ని,
"నీ పేరు గణేశుడు" అంది సంతోషముతో.

(పల్లవి)

(చరణం 2)
ఒక రోజు అమ్మ స్నానం చేస్తూ,
"ద్వారమును కాపాడుము" అని ప్రేమతో పలుకగా.
మన గణపయ్య విధేయంగా నిలిచి,
ఎవరినీ లోపలికి అనుమతించక,
అమ్మ మాటే కాపాడె హృదయమున నిఖిలముగా.

(పల్లవి)

(చరణం 3)
అప్పుడే శివుడు ఇంటి ద్వారమున చేరి,
"నేనే నీ తండ్రిని" అన్నాడు ప్రేమతో.
కానీ గణపయ్య ఆజ్ఞ మరచక,
ద్వారం దగ్గరే ఆపెను ధర్మబలముతో
తల్లి మాటే నిలబెట్టె భక్తిశక్తితో.

(పల్లవి)

(చరణం 4)
శివయ్య లోనికి వెళ్ళుటకు ప్రయత్నించగా,
గణపయ్య ఆయనను అడ్డగించగా.
చిన్న కలహం ముదిరే మెల్లగా,
అపార్థముతో కలహం ఘోరంగా మారగా,
శివయ్య తీవ్ర ఆగ్రహానికి లోనవ్వగా.

(చరణం 5)
గణపయ్య శిరస్సును కండించేను, ఆ తరునాన్న,
పార్వతి కన్నీరు మున్నిరయ్యే మనసున.
శివుడు సరిచేయుటకు ప్రయత్నించేను,
తన గణాలకు ఇటుల ఆజ్ఞాపించెను,
ఉత్తర దిక్కున తొలి జీవి తల తెమ్మని చెప్పెను.

(చరణం 6)
అడవిలో ఒక ఏనుగు కనిపించగా,
దాని తలను గణపయ్యకు అమర్చగా.
మన గణపయ్య అజేయుడయ్యెను.
నూతన రూపముతో వెలిగె దివ్యముర్తిగా,
దేవలోకమంతా ఆనందముతో నిండేను.

(చరణం 7)
పార్వతి హర్షంతో గణేశున్ని ఆలింగనం చేసె,
"ప్రతి శుభారంభమున ముందు నిన్నే పూజించాలి"
అని శివుడు వరమిచ్చి దేవతలందరికీ ప్రకటించెను.
అప్పటినుండి పిల్లలారా గుర్తుంచుకోండి,
మనం అన్ని శుభకార్యాలకు ముందు గణపతిని పూజిస్తాము.

(ముగింపు)
అలా మన గణపయ్య మోదకప్రియుడై,
ప్రేమకరుణలతో మనసులను గెలుచె.
విఘ్నములను తొలగించు దయామయుడై,
భక్తుల హృదయములో వెలుగులు నింపె,
ఎల్లపుడు మనతోనే ఉండె వినాయకుడు!
